Alfonse and Domingo - Market Day

The beginning at last!
Remember those color studies? :)

I've been wanting to post this for a good long while now, and...well, here it is! These are the the first five pages of what's evolved into 'Alfonse and Domingo' (first story entitled "Market Day';) that I've been hinting at for a while now :)

This is an original project I've been developing all semester. I have really gotten excited about the characters and the world.
There's more Alfonse and Domingo skittering around the recesses of my imagination...plenty more, and I hope that this is the start of something a little more long-term ;) Anyways, I've been having a good time :)

A combo of work done in Nick Bertozzi's comic class (lineart) and Mary Jane's Color Works class (color...:p).

Enjoy!

Moleskines!

I am very pleased to announce that the truly neato folks at Modofly have launched their newest line of custom-etched moleskines, some of which feature the work of yours truly!

I have two steampunk 'skines up on Modofly for your very much purchasing pleasure :)

They're featuring my old standby, the Steampunk Airship Pilot and the above set of Steampunk mag illustrations, Steampunk Apocalypse!

They're also featuring a number of other very talented artists as well...some of the work is really stunning up on a mokeskine :) Go check them out! They've been working tirelessly for months prior to this launch and such nice guys that they definitely deserve your patronage. I'll be doing some more specified work for them in future launches, so keep your eye on their page!

Enjoy!

Otherworldly Faculty

Well, these'll be the last of the watercolor creature series. I meant to do more, but I'm running out of steam at the end of the semester and I've gotta save my energy for the Alfonse & Domingo colors (soon!).
Anyways, I got a crit from my class saying I should explore the creatures more as characters in a context...one guy suggested that I do a high school yearbook of critters. I initially thought "man, what a dumb idea...", but I walked away and it grew on me :p
So: here's my week's watercolor work...monster-teachers. Top down: Gym, Math, and the Secretary :)

Enjoy!
